S.C. Swiderski recognizes the vital role educators play in shaping our communities. The SCS Education Rent-Free Contest is our way of saying thank you and to support educator recruitment, retention, and well-being by offering a district employee the opportunity to live rent-free for 12 months in a designated S.C. Swiderski apartment, to support their continued impact in the classroom and beyond.

How to Apply
To be considered for the SCS Education Rent-Free Contest, applicants must:
- Complete the application form
- Provide proof of employment with a school district
- Allow verification with the school district
- Submit a written response to the question, What will a year of free rent do for you, your students, your school or your district?
- Please submit a thoughtful written response to the question.
- Responses should clearly explain both personal impact and professional or educational impact.
- Applicants are encouraged to include specific examples, goals, or anticipated outcomes.
- Suggested length: 500-750 words (quality and clarity are more important than length).
- Responses will be evaluated on clarity, sincerity, demonstrated impact, and alignment with the mission of supporting educators.
What the Contest Includes
The SCS Education Rent-Free Contest covers base rent only.
The selected winner will be responsible for all other standard leasing costs, including:
- Application fee
- Security deposit
- Pet fees (if applicable)
- Utilities and any additional monthly charges
This allows S.C. Swiderski to maintain standard leasing requirements as outlined in Fair Housing.
